Hi s name is Hasan Minhaj, and from what I’ve seen of his show’s first season, I think he’s brilliant at this.

I agree.
His wafty peaky hair is waftier and peakier than mine.

Whoever styles his hair is someone I want on the neighborhood salon.
Also he’s funny, and covers a new niche in this weekly news/main-topic style. I like to think that if John Oliver makes you think: “That’s a problem? Oh god, it’s worse than I thought! ” and Samantha Bee makes you think: “Chirst, we still haven’t made that much progress, have we?”, then Minhaj is the “Oh wow, you cared about this stuff?” kind of show. He seems hip and with it, but then you hear him talk at length at some of these problems and realize that he’s more than someone who follows trends.
They’re my big three now. Colbert, Maher and No ah just don’t cut it for me.

A comedian with a satire-but-not-really news show? Interesting format.

This show is great, it’s like Last Week Tonight, but without the non-stop ridiculous similes that nearly detract from the importance of the story.

If you haven’t watched his Netflix stand-up special, you need to. It’s fantastic.

I’m more partial to the Saudi bit, largely because ANY banning by an asshole country just gets you even more notoriety. Saudi made a dick move, but only unwittingly made Hasan a bigger star. Which makes his recent episode about hip-hop really resonate with me.
Also, I implore you to go seek out that Thai rap song.

Eh, some are better than others. Plus what’s stopping me from running that kinda show here in the Philippines? I mean in that place it’s never been done, and I kinda want to take the format further to include two extra presenters plus a debate section.
